Before famous sports and streetwear brands created their iconic hoodies for athletes, there was the Knickerbocker Knitting Company, now Champion Products, which claims the title of creating the humble hoodie. The company started as a sweater mill in 1919 but began creating sweatshirts in early 1930's when it was able to develop processes of sewing thicker underwear fabrics.
Nowadays, many regard men's hooded tops as among the favourites of collegiate sporty guys. You'll see them around running and doing errands on a cool, breezy day wearing their favourite tops. Hoodies have also made their way into streetwear and became a staple especially among boardsports enthusiasts.
